How to create your perfect outdoor social/family space, where to start??

Location, location, location! Where are you positioning the outdoor area? think of natural light, where gets the most natural day light throughout the day. How far it is from the house (especially if you don't have an W/C within the build), away from neighbouring properties, to reduce disturbing them whilst you are enjoying your new social/family space.
What amenities will you include - bar, pizza oven, BBQ, integrated seating, fire pits, ice buckets, log store, fridges, hot tub area . . . . . the list is endless but you also need to be mindful of the space you have available.
Lighting- With the rustic stone builds you are able to get away with traditional oil lamp style lighting right through to ultra modern the choices are individual to you - very much like the build itself!
If you are looking at putting in a shower room, W/C, sink, plumbed in fridge, careful thought on how water will get to the build and how waste will be removed will need factoring in right at the beginning - pumps can be used if you are planning to place them in a more remote spot in the garden.
